On Sunday, December 4, 2005, a one-day technical visit was made to the bypass tunnels of Agios Konstantinos (Knimida) and subsequently to the "Vagonetto" mining park. The GTS colleagues were informed about the progress of the work in the tunnels that are being developed for the improvement of the Athens - Lamia road axis (PATHE), while afterwards at "Vagonetto" all delegates were able to see aspects of the underground bauxite mining operations.
Excursion Program
• Departure by coach on Sunday morning (8:00)
• Presentation of the geological/geotechnical conditions and technical data of the tunnels along the way.
• Visit to the tunnels of Kamena Vourla and a short tour.
• Visit and tour of the "Vagonetto" Mining Park of Fokida
• Meal at a local tavern
